Our surgeons

Isileli Tonga is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Auckland City Hospital and an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Auckland. He specialises in the full spectrum of colorectal and general surgery, with particular interests in colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, peritoneal malignancy surgery, and abdominal wall reconstruction.

Trained in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom, Isileli completed advanced fellowships in colorectal surgery in Bristol and London. He holds fellowships with both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Alongside his elective practice, he is also experienced in emergency surgery and proctology, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centred surgical care. Isileli consults and operates privately at Allevia and Laparoscopy Auckland.
